Augusta Maine Area Gets New Bike & Fitness Store

Mathieu's Cycle & Fitness Farmingdale StoreMathieu’s Cycle & Fitness Store has been serving the needs of cyclists in the Oakland / Waterville area for the last 15 years.

Owner Jim Mathieu, has had his eye on the Augusta area since 1999. He has been patiently waiting for the right time to make the move to open another store to serve the needs of the Augusta area cycling community. With the closing of Kennebec Bike & Ski in September of 2009, it became clear that now was the time to make the move.

The new Store is located at 498 Maine Ave in Farmingdale, formerly the home of Charlie’s Pizza and just off the Kennebec River Rail Trail. Jim and Alan have worked hard to convert the space from a pizza shop into a bike shop in a very short time. It’s a fun, open, and efficient space with lots of bikes and related accessories from top companies like Trek & Specialized.

If you are looking to commit to investing in your health, they also have a great selection of commercial quality fitness equipment in the store to see and even try out before investing.

The new Farmingdale Store has the same hours of operation as the Oakland store, 9AM-5:30PM Monday-Friday, & 9Am-3PM Saturdays.
